I’ve seen the recipe floating around the internet and my cookbooks for years but never tried making this, perhaps I should. Funny, didn’t make the connection until now- this pie is named after a tree in my frontyard because of the way the pear slices are arranged.

Somehow pears always seem more nuanced than other tree fruits. We get ‘em fresh in the fall here in CT. I am filing this beauty, for sure!
