- Driven cook – this is a 4-stranded braid. The trick is that rather than alternating which side you braid from as in a 3-stranded braid, you always start braiding from the same side. I’ll try to describe in words how this works, but bear with me. Roll out 4 strands and pinch them together at the top. Lay the strands parallel to one another. For ease of description, let’s label them from left to right, numbers 1,2,3,4. Then with your left hand, cross 1 over 2 and under 3. It should end up between 3 and 4. With your left hand again, cross 2 over 3 and under 4. With your left hand again, cross 3 over 4 and under 1. You get the idea. Every even-stranded braid works like this. Good luck!

This looks so good. Lovely job making them look perfect. I’ve always wondered how to braid it like that- it doesn’t look like a normal braid!
