I ate there with a friend of mine about a month ago. I'm not familiar with the "hummus houses" of NYC, so I have to admit, when we first walked in I thought, wow, this is really strange - like something out of the Zohan movie - and we nearly walked out, but thankfully decided to try it. When they brought the hummus & falafel & tabouli and we took our first bites, we literally could not stop moaning with joy. The best we ever had, here or in Israel!! Really incredibly fresh & delicious, & Alon was happy to explain to us why everything tasted so much better than what we're used to! We had a whole discussion about how to make hummus! It was all freshly made to order. We are going back tonight and I can't stop drooling just thinking of it! Especially after seeing your yummy photos! Definitely recommend anyone in the area to stop by & try it!

Thanks everyone for visiting.
- Cookin' Canuck - I always thought the green was from herbs...I love learning things from chefs that are excited about their recipes. Glad I was able to share the knowledge.
- Debra - Glad I could bring you a veggie and vegan food to read about.
- Heavenly Housewife - As you can tell, I love this food too. I was lucky to get some decent pictures and had fun meeting the new owners, etc.
Best, Z

What a great review! You descriptions of the food had me salivating. I had no idea there were two different colors of falafel and was intrigued to learn that the green one was made of fava beans.
