WHOOPS: I initially mis-identified these flowers as poppies, but I now believe they are anemones. I'm no horticulturalist, but I did a little research because I kept thinking that I was wrong. See, I have a set of beautiful black and white photographs, one of a poppy, one of an anemone and I always confuse the two. Anemones seem to have slightly thicker petals that look velvety, have leaves that look a bit like parsley or cilantro, and furry centers. Poppies are more delicate -- relatives of the buttercup family -- with flimsier petals and from what I can tell very few leaves if any at all near the bud or flower. So, I stand corrected. Of course, the beauty of this being my own blog is that I fixed everything within the original post!

Hillel - Thank you for visiting my site! I have never been on a kosher cruise, but when I was on a regular cruise, I worked with the head chef to double-wrap fresh fish and veggies. I went to a Club Med in Mexico that kashered one of its kitchens and the food was pretty good. I'd be happy to speak with you off-line about your own cruises.
